POLICE have launched a manhunt for a Chinhoyi polygamous man who assaulted his two wives after tying them to a tree leading to the death of one of them and for a Mhangura man who allegedly killed his wife and two children with an axe before setting the family home on fire.
John Musani (33), who is on the run, assaulted his bound wives using wire and tree bark on Monday at Citrus Farm in Chinhoyi, accusing them of cheating on him with local gold panners.
One of the wives Beauty Zindoga (24) died on the spot from her injuries, while Privilege Zuwerere (20) was rushed to Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital where she is reportedly in grave danger.
For the killings in Mhangura, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said they occurred at Hunter Farm, some 6km north of the town.
Justice Musungavarume (age not known), allegedly attacked his wife Leen Maungwe and children, after accusing her of infidelity, said Ms Linda Musungavarume, sister to the wanted man.
“After having confronted his wives over infidelity, my brother vacated their matrimonial home and went to Mhangura before coming back yesterday (Thursday) to attack his family,” she said.
Mhangura police attended the scene and the bodies of the three were taken to Makonde Christian Hospital mortuary.
