WELL known Mutare hooligan, Clyde Jani (pictured above) is playing hide and seek with law enforcement agents as he remains on the run, but widely believed to be within the environs of the city.
Jani allegedly assaulted Douglas Kombo during a recent musical show in Mutare.
Of late, Jani and his sizable number of violent youths codenamed ‘The Hunters’ have turned most public places in the eastern border city into hard hat areas. Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Luxson Chananda, confirmed that Jani was still at large.
“He (Clyde Jani) is still on the police wanted list. We are yet to arrest him. Like I said last week, he is facing charges of assault and malicious damage to property,” said Asst Insp Chananda.
Jani has a litany of assault and malicious damage to property previous cases. Jani has had brushes with the law on numerous occasions in the past including Case Number 1296-12 in which he faced charges of theft and assault where a Vehicle Inspection Department official, Mr Edward Siyabonga was the complainant.
