THE Manica Post scribe, Liberty Dube, once again shone, raising the Manicaland flag high after scooping the Outstanding Tourism Journalist of the Year Award at the Zimbabwe Community Trailblazers Awards 2025, held in Harare yesterday.
The accolade comes barely two months after Dube also won the Arts and Entertainment Journalist of the Year Award at the National Journalism and Media Awards (NJAMA), also held in Harare.
Organisers of the prestigious awards said Dube was honoured for his sterling work in tourism reporting, which has helped put Manicaland on the global map. They cited his outstanding build-up and extensive coverage of the successful Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo, held in Mutare this year, as well as his consistent spotlight on Manicaland’s beautiful tourism and heritage sites. They described him as a “jewel” whose work continues to elevate the province and the profession.

The event brought together Zimbabwe’s top achievers, dignitaries and community leaders to recognise and celebrate individuals and organisations making a significant impact in their communities.
Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Honourable Jenfan Muswere, was represented by Acting Zimpapers Group Editorial Executive, Mr Elias Mambo, who was the guest of honour.
Speaking after receiving the award, Dube expressed gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to impactful journalism. “This award is, not just a personal achievement, but a celebration of Manicaland’s untold stories. I remain committed to telling stories that inspire, preserve our heritage, and showcase the beauty of Zimbabwe to the world. It’s has been a wonderful year and glory be to God,” said Dube.
