MANICALAND’S breathtaking tourist attractions took centre stage when renowned South African expeditioners Trans Africa Self Drive Adventures and Tours waxed lyrical about the province, lavishly describing its supreme destinations, hospitality and gastronomy as paradise during their ongoing tour of the country.

Visits to Bridal Veil in Chimanimani, Vumba Botanical Gardens and Mutare left a lasting impression on George Van Deventer and his team as they lauded the country’s tourism trajectory.

Trans Africa Self Drive Adventures and Tours are in the country as part of efforts to promote Destination Zimbabwe.

“Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe, you’re beauty! Zimbabwe is insanely serious about tourism,” Van Deventer remarks in one of the videos shot at Bridal Veil and posted on Trans Africa Self Drive Adventures and Tours Facebook page.

The highly impressed expeditioners also met a delegation led by Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi, who was accompanied by Zimbabwe Tourism Chief Executive Officer Dr George Manyaya, Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution Advocate Misheck Mugadza and other officials.

Despite a brush with the police during their tour, Van Deventer and his team said they thoroughly enjoyed their one-of-a-kind exploration of Manicaland as it was the “closest thing to Heaven”.

Their sharing moments with the officials underscores Government’s commitment to building a robust and resilient tourism industry that significantly contributes to the country’s economic development and social transformation in the drive to Vision 2030.
