Manicaland Amateur golf champs tees off

Amateur.
A large field is expected today but defending champion Scott Vincent will not feature today.
Vincent won the event last year after edging Barry Painting.
The Manicaland Amateur carries some order of merit points.
Vincent is said to be in the country from his base in the United States.
The Hillside course will host its second high-profile tournament after successfully hosting the Marange Resources pro-am last month.
The course is in good shape.
Clive Nguru is likely to be the top dog this time around. Tournament organiser, Borniface Chigorimbo, said they were expecting a huge field. The tournament will be big and a lot of players have expressed interest in the tournament.
“We expect great competition as the tournament carries some order of merit points that are essential for a place in the national team selection.”
