HUNDREDS of high‑school students from across Manicaland gathered at Mutare Hall this morning for a day career‑exploration expo, turning the venue into a bustling hub of ambition and information.
The event, organised by Zimpapers Mutare – The Manica Post and Diamond FM – in partnership with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, varsities and local businesses, brought together pupils from schools such as Chakohwa High School, Rhema Junior School, Kriste Mambo High School, Holy Ghost High School and many others.
A wide range of higher‑and‑tertiary institutions set up stalls to showcase their programmes and answer students’ questions. Exhibitors included Mutare Teachers College, Marymount Teachers College, Reformed Church University, Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences, Chinhoyi University of Technology, Zimbabwe School of Mines and the Zimbabwe College of Forestry, among others.

Students moved from booth to booth, collecting prospectuses, attending short presentations and speaking with lecturers and current undergraduates.
Many reported that the direct interaction helped clarify pathways they had only read about online.
The expo also featured career‑guidance workshops on topics such as scholarship applications, vocational training, and entrepreneurship, aimed at equipping students with practical tools for post‑school success.
Addressing the gathering, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Mutare District schools inspector for guidance and counselling, Mr Mbengo Mawire, said:
“Today is about possibilities, about exploring the vast opportunities available to you. Make the most of it, ask questions, and chart your path. The choices you make now will shape your future, so be bold, be curious, and seize the moment.”
Diamond FM station manager, Mr Jabulani Mangezi said the organisation was thrilled to host the event and bring together the best of Manicaland’s talent and ambition.
“At Zimpapers, we believe in empowering our youth with knowledge and opportunities. That is why we brought together top institutions and industry experts to help you shape your future. Engage, learn, and let your dreams take flight,” he said.
