MANNA Resort management say they have remained open, three days after part of the complex was gutted by fire , after it was struck by lightning.

The lightning bolt struck on Tuesday, destroying a significant portion of the resort, but no person or wildlife were injured.

The resort’s management team thanked emergency services, including the fire brigade, for their quick response.

“We are grateful for the swift response of both the fire brigade and emergency services that attended to the site.

“We are happy to report that there were no human or wildlife casualties,” said the resort’s executive director, in a statement.

PaSangano Lifestyle Centre, parts of Panzvimbo and Tata accommodation facilities, were destroyed by the fire, leaving the resort with reduced accommodation capacity.

However, the rest of the Manna resort remains open.

“We remain open for all the conferences, weddings, wildlife tours and restaurant bookings, as usual. Thank you to all our stakeholders for the support during this time and we are looking forward to serving you soon.”
