Forbes was accusing his brother’s children of breaking into his room and stealing US$7.
The incident occurred on June 9 at around 7.30am.

A misunderstanding arose, with Shepherd vowing to pay back the stolen money, but Forbes spurned the offer. Instead, he went after his brother’s children intending to beat them and swearing that they should never set foot at his house again.

The melee degenerated into a fight with Forbes hitting his brother who never retaliated.
Forbes left the scene in a huff and returned shortly armed with an unknown object that he used to slit the privates of his brother.

Shepherd was rushed to hospital where he was treated and went to report the matter to the police, leading to his brother’s arrest. Forbes admitted to assault charges when he appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Lazarus Murendo.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison before four months were suspended on condition that he performed 280 hours of community service at the courts.
