Man’s mutilated body found in Mt Darwin

A MAN was found dead with his body heavily mutilated in a bushy area in Chesa, Mt Darwin, in a suspected case of ritual murder.

Acting Mashonaland Central police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Petros Masikati, confirmed the death of Kennias Musona (29) of Chimhanda under Chief Rusambo’s area whose body had a deep cut on the back of the neck, while the stomach was slit open. The body also had a missing foot.

The body was found at around 1600 hours by a young woman who was looking for her father’s cattle, who informed the police at Mt Darwin Police Station.

“I can confirm that the body of Kennias Musona was found at Farm Number 577, Chesa area, Mt Darwin by a young lady who was looking for her father’s cattle at around 4pm.

“The body had a deep cut on the back of the neck, while stomach was slit open.

“The foot was also missing,” said Asst Insp Masikati.

“We suspect that it was ritual murder. An axe was used to commit the murder.”

He said police were appealing to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

Asst Insp Masikati said those with information can contact CID Rushinga or Mt Darwin or any nearest police station.
