FC Platinum coach, Norman Mapeza has described the death of Nelson Matongorere as big blow to the football community.
Thousands gathered to pay their final respect to Matongorere at his final resting place yesterday.
Mapeza described the late CAPS United assistant coach as an oasis of football knowledge who contributed to the development of football not only in Zimbabwe but on the continent.
“I want to pass my condolences to the Matongorere family for the loss of Nelson.
“We have lost a legend in football 98 percent of all coaches in this country passed through his hands.
“He was someone out of this world and he contributed a lot in terms of football development not only in Zimbabwe in Africa.
“If you go to Botswana, South Africa, Tanzania, East Africa they all know much about Matongorere and his football development in Africa was just massive,” said Mapeza.
