FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza is worried that the re- arranged match against Chicken Inn on Saturday at Luveve will not afford his charges some rest at a time other Premiership sides are taking a break.
Mapeza is not really looking at the fact that fulfilling their outstanding fixture against the Gamecocks this Saturday might be a chance to shoot to the top of the log standings should they win or draw.
Instead Mapeza reckons the players should have taken a rest this weekend.
Although the FC Platinum coach may feel aggrieved, the PSL could not be faulted for the postponed games, some of which were deferred due to security reasons while in some cases it was because of teams who had three or more players on national duty at the COSAFA Cup in Namibia last month
While Chicken Inn will be hosting FC Platinum at Luveve, Tsholotsho will welcome Mutare City at Luveve as the PSL clear the backlog.
The Chicken Inn against FC Platinum match which was originally scheduled for July 6 was postponed after the PSL were advised by the Zimbabwe Republic Police that the match could not go ahead over security concerns at the stadium.
The match had also initially been shelved because the Gamecocks had three players on Warriors duty in Namibia.
“The biggest challenge if it is mid-season break is that the game will not give us what we want as the players also need rest. So in their mind it will be there.
“I hope fatigue will not catch up with us later. The rest is no longer there,” said Mapeza.
The former Monomotapa coach said he was not reading much into the fact that the game in hand presents them with a perfect chance to reclaim the top spot from Highlanders who will only play their match four days later.
“It is not about being on top of the log. The most important thing is to get a positive result. Chicken Inn have been doing very well of late so it is going to be a difficult game,” said Mapeza.

Wednesday July 27: Highlanders v Triangle (Barbourfields), Tsholotsho v Mutare City (Luveve).
