MAPHISA in Matobo District is set to host the third edition of the Matabeleland South Zanu PF Provincial Youth League Sports and Business Expo, which is earmarked at celebrating the birthday of Vice President Col (Rtd) Dr Kembo Mohadi.

The two-day expo will be held on 13 and 14 November 2026 under the theme: “Empowering Drug Free Youths for Vision 2030.”

Zanu PF Matabeleland South Provincial Youth League chairperson Cde Moses Langa said the expo has grown to become one of the biggest youth empowerment platforms in the province.

“Preparations are in full swing. On Tuesday, the Provincial Youth Committee met with the Local Organising Committee and sports associations in Maphisa to finalise logistics, venues and fixtures for this year’s edition,” he said.

“The expo blends sport, business, skills training and entertainment to promote a drug-free and productive youth.

“This year’s programme is bigger and will feature soccer, netball, boxing, athletics (marathon), pool games, business exhibition, First Aid training, career guidance, anti-drug awareness campaigns and other youth empowerment activities,” said Cde Langa.

He said this year’s edition seeks to consolidate gains made in the previous editions while offering more opportunities for youths to showcase talent, network and access business opportunities.

“This year’s edition is not only a birthday celebration for our father, Vice President Dr KCD Mohadi, who is a son of Matabeleland South and a champion of youth empowerment, but also our continued commitment as youths to fight drug and substance abuse and contribute meaningfully to Vision 2030.

“The Organising Committee is inviting sponsors, partners, corporates, SMEs, Government departments, NGOs, sports associations and business exhibitors to be part of this provincial flagship event.

Opportunities available include sponsorship of sporting disciplines and trophies, branding and advertising at venues and the music gala, business exhibition stands for the two days, partnership in First Aid training, anti-drug campaigns and business mentorship and support for meals, transport, sound and logistics,” said Cde Langa.
