Mapwanya, Gondo lead in NAC tourney

VISITOR Mapwanya and Brian Gondo will go into today’s final round of the on-going National Aids Council Pro-Am golf tournament as leaders at Harare Royal this morning.

The duo is tied on eight-under-par 208 and will be joined by Robson Chinhoi in the last ball of final round in what is expected to be a thrilling conclusion.

Gondo, who took the lead after the second round managed to remain in contention despite carding a one-over-par 73 yesterday.

It is Mapwanya who has been improving with each passing day who carded a two-under to take his tally to eight-under and making his presence felt.

Second round leader Chinhoi who has been participating in several tours like the Sunshine Tour and Safari Tour dropped to third place on six-under after a disappointing third round of three-over.

First round leader Tranos Muradzikwa goes into today’s final round tied on position four with Stuart Krog on five-under after the three rounds.
