ZANU PF has warned its members against making unsanctioned statements, saying communication of party issues is relayed only through official channels, namely the Department of Information and Publicity and heads of department.
In a statement yesterday, Zanu PF national political commissar Cde Mike Bimha, said all party officials should comply with protocols.
“The party notes with concern that certain party officials and members have taken to releasing statements on behalf of the party on major issues without prior consultation or authorisation.
“Recently, the press was awash with comments made by the Political Commissar of Harare Province on prospective by-election candidates, primary election dates, and the restructuring exercise without the authority of the National Department of the Commissariat,” Cde Bimha said.
He said the comments were pre-emptive of party decisions.
