Mare, Chigubu, Malinga Nama performers

SULTRY songstress Cynthia Mare, comedian Clive Chigubu, poet Nqobile Malinga, Lifestyle Dance Group and mbira outfit, Gudo Guru have been lined up to provide entertainment for guests at the National Art Merit Awards taking place at 7 Arts Theatre in Harare tomorrow evening. Preparations for the annual event are at an advanced stage with the ceremony being broadcast live on ZBCtv for those who will not be able to attend.

Mare, who was nominated for Outstanding Female artiste, is known for her soulful music. Chigubu on the other hand is expected to share his life experiences in a comical way which always leaves many in stitches.

Cathrine Mthombeni, National Arts Council of Zimbabwe communications and marketing officer, said the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Andrew Langa, was among those expected to attend the event.

“Among the guests will be the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Honourable Andrew Langa and Permanent Secretary Thokozile Chitepo, other government ministers and members of parliament among others,” Mthombeni said.
