adminLONDON. — Mario Balotelli is a “waste of space” for Liverpool and is the sort of player that will “let you down 99 times out of 100”.
That is the withering view of former Kop favourite Mark Lawrenson.
The misfiring striker made a cameo role in Liverpool’s goalless draw against Blackburn in the FA Cup quarter-finals yesterday. Balotelli cost Liverpool £16m last summer, but Lawrenson didn’t hold back in his attack.
“Forget about Mario Balotelli. He is an absolute waste of time,” Lawrenson told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He shouldn’t be anywhere near this team. I can see why Brendan Rodgers threw him on today as he might just create something, but 99 times out of 100 he will let you down.”
Lawrenson’s swipe at Balotelli came just a matter of days after the Italy international posted a cryptic Instagram message that read: “Someone doesn’t Like me.” — The Daily Express
