NUMEROUS efforts being undertaken by private companies to complement Government efforts to ensure that it addresses the challenges of housing especially in towns is key to development.

Therefore Government must also ensure that it improves the conditions that will attract more players in the sector. One of the easiest things the Government can do is to avail more land at competitive prices to ensure that more people can afford to buy stands.

Meanwhile, the Industrial index retreated by 0.10 points (0,10 percent) to close at 99.37 points on the back of increased trading activity on Friday. The beverage giant Delta traded $0,0025 lower at $0,6650 while Econet dropped $0,0005 to close at $0,1991.

Three counters gained ground, Old Mutual ended $0,0096 higher at $2,3576, Padenga moved up $0,0004 to close at $0,0970 and SeedCo marginally increased by $0,0001 to settle at $0,5700.

The Mining index was unchanged at 25.56 points. Bindura, Falgold, Hwange and RioZim remained unchanged on previous price levels at $0,0110, $0,0055, $0,0300 and $0,1710 in that order.
