Martinez accepts fate

LONDON. — Emiliano Martinez is ready to give it till the end of the season at Arsenal after accepting his place in the first team is for now coming to a close. The Gunners’ third-choice goalkeeper has kept three clean sheets as Arsene Wenger’s side have rallied from an indifferent spell of form.

However, with Wojciech Szczesny back close to fitness again, the Spaniard admits he still has a little bit of learning to do.

He said: “I spoke to my agent and my family about it and they said, ‘let’s wait one year to see if you get the opportunity, don’t rush it’.

“I was still young – I was only 21 – and I think I did good to stay here. I got the opportunity that my agent and family told me, so I am really pleased about that.” — The Daily Express.
