Mary J. Blige doesn’t allow her husband to have female friends. The “No More Drama” hitmaker has been married to her manager Kendu Isaacs since 2003, and they have a pact where they agree not to have pals of the opposite sex as she doesn’t believe it can ‘‘work’’ in a marriage. In an interview with Stella magazine, she revealed: ‘‘All females for me, all guys for him. There’s none of that, “Oh, that’s my female friend Oh, that’s my guy friend.” No, not in a marriage, I’ve never seen that work.’
‘Being a single person and an artiste, there’s a lot of selfishness that you don’t even know you have. Being a wife, it’s not all about me.’
Mary has been in London recently as she promotes her upcoming studio album, The London Sessions.
The album, which was created after 10 days of writing and 10 days of recording, was leaked well ahead of it’s November 24 UK and December 2 US release dates in October.
Though the setback has garnered some early praise for Mary.
Billboard called it “objectively her best since 2005’s ‘The Breakthrough’, one of her highest-selling LPs to date”, and claiming ‘‘the veteran R&B singer may benefit from the leak, given its superb quality’’.
Mary has teamed up with the likes of electronic duo Disclosure and singer Sam Smith for her upcoming album. —Dailymail.
