Masakadza brothers decide Takashinga derby

The Masakadza brothers starred for Takashinga Patriots 1 as Wellington claimed four wickets while Hamilton completed four catches to virtually decide their National Premier League (NPL) derby match against Takashinga Patriots 2 in Highfield on Sunday.

Put in to bat first, Takashinga Patriots 2 were dismissed for 102.

Only Cuthbert Musoko (24) reached 20 as Wellington worked his way through the middle order, and only the last pair could take the score past 100.

Takashinga Patriots 1 lost three wickets for 41, including that of Tinashe Kamunhukamwe for 24, but Timycen Maruma (25 not out) and Blessing Muzarabani (36 not out) added 63 unbroken for the fourth wicket to complete a dominant seven-wicket victory.

At Kwekwe Sports Club, Ryan Burl and Jason Maritz took three cheap wickets each for Rangers as they bowled Bulawayo Athletic Club for 91, leading to their eventual decisive 10-wicket victory.

Only two batters reached double figures for BAC, although extras contributed 30 runs to the total, 20 of them wide.

It took Rangers only 11.2 overs to complete victory without losing a wicket, with Jarod Bason making 44 and Mathew Campbell 36.
