Muchenga did his primary and secondary education at schools in Mufakose before joining the Zimbabwe Republic Police in 1988.
He later obtained a diploma in prosecution while serving in the police force.
In 1993, Muchenga left the police force and joined the Attorney General’s Office as a prosecutor.
He rose through the ranks and was appointed Area Public Prosecutor for Mashonaland Central in 2009, a position he held until the time of his death.
“He was firm, hardworking, committed and passionate about his work. He was professional in the discharge of his duties,” read part of a statement from the AG’s Office.
“The office has lost a hardworking and committed legal mind who inspired many in the legal fraternity.”
Muchenga was buried last week at Chiwanza Plot, in Zvimba.
He is survived by his wife Adija and two children.
