Baylis has been conducting the clinics at Royal Harare and has seen the number of kids increasing to 36 from 23.
The golfer believes this is one of the best ways to nurture talent.
“This is very important for junior golf as we can manage to scout talent from a tender age.
“The kids are promising to be good golfers considering their age and they are showing a lot of interest which is good for the growth of the sport.”
Apart from Norton schools the professional golfer has this time incorporated Avondale primary and Mount Pleasant High School in the development clinic.
“We have improved in terms of numbers and the kids are co-operating in terms of punctuality.
“We are dealing with three categories which are the mutual, intermediate and starters.
“The school holiday was busy as we have managed to hold 10 tournaments for the kids, which helped them a lot.
“The kids took part in 18-hole tournaments, as they cannot finish the usual 36.
“I think junior golf is going in the right direction if the number of participants we are having is anything to go by,” Baylis said.
Meanwhile Royal Harare hosted the friendly diplomats golf day yesterday.
The tournament had 62 players who took to the field for the second edition of the event.
