Mash West throng Chinhoyi Stadium to mark Defence Forces Day

A carnival atmosphere engulfed Chinhoyi stadium today as people from all parts of Mashonaland West province gathered to celebrate Defence Forces Day.


Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo anchored the programme where displays by the Zimbabwe National Army and the Air Force of Zimbabwe added colour to the event.

Service chiefs including commander of Headquarters Mechanised Brigade, Brigadier General Josphat Kudumba, Commander Air Force of Zimbabwe Jason Ziyapapa Moyo Air Base Air Commodore Nicholas Nyathi, officer commanding police Mashonaland West province Commissioner Tawonei Nyazema among others.

Entertainment is being provided by Suluman Chimbetu, Takesure Chari, drum majorettes displays from Nemakonde High School, Chinhoyi Technical School, Manyame Primary School among others.

A football match pitting select teams from ZNA and ZRP will be played later in the day.
