Mashonaland East celebrates Defence Forces Day

Thousands from all walks of life are gathered at the Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera in Mashonaland East where they are joining the whole nation in celebrating the Defence Forces Day.


Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East Dr Apollonia Munzverengwi is officiating at the event.

The celebrations started early in the morning with Minister Munzverengwi inspecting the guard of honour.

This was followed by several displays by members of the Zimbabwe National Army as well as entertainment from various arts groups including Sungura maestro Josephat Somanje of the Pengaudzoke band.
