Mashonaland East to host Commissioner-General’s Charity Golf Tournament

MASHONALAND East Province will host the Commissioner-General of Police’s Charity Golf Tournament on July 10 at Ruwa Golf Club, with proceeds from the event earmarked for the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Welfare Fund.

The tournament was announced at a Press conference held at ZRP Mashonaland East Provincial Headquarters in Marondera on Tuesday by Officer Commanding Police in Mashonaland East, Commissioner Dr Wiklef Makamache.

Comm Dr Makamache said proceeds from the tournament would be channelled towards the ZRP Welfare Fund, which assists orphans, widows and widowers of police officers.

“Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Mashonaland East province is excited to announce its upcoming Commissioner General of Police’s charity golf tournament to be hosted by this province on July 10, 2026 at Ruwa Golf Club,” he said

“The tournament aims to bring together golf enthusiasts, members of the police service and the community to promote partnerships and raise funds for a worthy cause. The tournament will be an 18-hole stroke play.”

Dr Makamache said the proceeds of the event will be donated to ZRP Welfare Fund.

“Registration is still open until July 10, 2026. The proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the ZRP Welfare Fund meant to assist orphans, widows and widowers of the late police officers,” he said.

“The province therefore invites the business community and other related institutions to sponsor this event and contribute to the success of the charity initiative.”

Comm Dr Makamache said the annual charity tournament sought to strengthen partnerships between the police, the business community and the public while raising funds to support the welfare of police officers and their families.

“Zimbabwe Republic Police Mashonaland East Province is excited to announce the Commissioner-General of Police’s Charity Golf Tournament, which will be hosted on July 10, 2026, at Ruwa Golf Club,” he said.

“The tournament aims to bring together golf enthusiasts, members of the police service and the community to promote partnerships and raise funds for a worthy cause. It will be played in an 18-hole stroke play format.”
