ZINJAZIYAMLUMA, the king of Maskandi music in Zimbabwe, is making the nation proud by competing in a prestigious Maskandi music festival in South Africa. The winner of the festival will drive away in a Quantum, a popular minibus model.

The festival, called Mother of All Maskandi Festival, is organised by Ukhozi FM, the top radio station in South Africa with over ten million listeners. Zinjaziyamluma, who hails from Tsholotsho, has already secured a spot in the top 30, which means he will get to perform at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

He is appealing to his fellow Zimbabweans and music lovers in South Africa to support him by voting for him.

“I am the only Zimbabwean artiste in the competition hence my appeal to my countrymen and women to support me. The top 30 artistes will perform during the festival at Moses Mabhida stadium.

“My request and prayer is support from my fellow countrymen here in South Africa because if I managed to win or maintain the top 30, it will open opportunities for other artists from home. To vote for me they type Zinjaziyamluma and send to 44 893,” he said.

Zinjaziyamluma has a loyal fan base in South Africa, where his music is regularly played on Ukhozi FM. He has also been interviewed by the station several times.

“South Africans love my music and ,the fact that being Zimbabwean I sing Maskandi music, in a way they relate to and love. Some even attend my shows when I play this side and buy my music which is something that gives me satisfaction,” he said from his base in South Africa.

The artiste is enjoying the success of his 2023 album, Kubhulwa Uphoko Lwakwasilima, which has won him several awards.
