MUSICIAN Doubles WekwaMarange says he is elated to have roped in rapper Maskiri on the new song titled Kushava.
Kushava’s visuals were directed by Blackspider.
Doubles, who regards Maskiri as one of the best lyricists, said he felt the need to add a Maskiri verse, on the song, for the hustlers.
“When I wrote the song I felt it lacked a rap verse.
“So, the rapper who came into my mind was Maskiri.
“Maskiri is a super lyricist and I wanted a story teller and nobody does it like him.
“I grew up listening to these guys, it’s an honour to work with him as it also raises my profile.
“Since I announced the collabo, my subscribers have been increasing.”
Doubles said the song Kushava was inspired by everyday life hustles.
“Kushava means hunting or hustling.
“It’s all about encouraging everybody to keep on hunting, or hustling, till we win.
“I was inspired by my life, I have done a lot,” he said.
Ironically, on the hustling theme, the singer’s first album is called Hustle Bustle and was released in 2014.
He started his career in 2010 with the single Tiri Huchi.
