FORMER How Mine coach Luke Masomere hopes to return to coaching at the beginning of next season if talks with a Premier Soccer League club that has approached him for his services bears fruit.
“There is a team that approached me and I believe we will have held some talks by the end the week. They said they will get back to me after the season ends,” said Masomere.
He has been been clubless since parting ways with Bulawayo-based gold miners How Mine following a string of poor results, which continued to haunt the club that it ended up having to survive relegation, going on a 13-match winless streak.
The depths of How Mine’s plunge was exposed by their 1-0 home loss to relegated Dongo Sawmill on Sunday.
“I’m still part of How Mine and it’s disheartening for them to have lost that match, but at least they survived relegation and they have next season to prove their worth. I have also contributed something to them although I’m no longer with them.
“I’m a professional and would not hold grudges against my team. After I was dismissed, they continued to ignore the things I had told them, which would have led the team to a better position. Some would say I love talking, but now they are probably saying the doctor was right.
“Football is not as easy as deemed to be. It needs cooperation and unity among players and coaches and also the executive. There is need to work as a team,” Masomere said.
He commended the FC Platinum players for rallying behind their coach Norman Mapeza in the wake of negative sentiments and criticism directed at him.
“I used to call the How Mine coaches and encourage them to win their fixtures because I still considered myself part of the team.
“I hope they will look into what I highlighted during my stay with them and correct it so that they can have a better 2016 season,” Masomere said.
