Masomere had initially been handed a two-year ban that has since been changed to a US$1 500 fine while CAPS United coach Mangwiro had his 10-year ban altered to a wholly suspended one-year.
On Sunday, Mangwiro was on the bench as CAPS United beat How Mine 2-1 at Luveve while Masomere led Shabanie to victory over town rivals FC Platinum.
Dominic Chungwa gave CAPS United the advantage with Hardlife Zvirekwi increasing the lead while veteran Menard Mupera scored for the newboys.
Mangwiro said he was glad to register a win on his return but appealed for patience from the CAPS United fans as he attempts to re-establish the Green Machine.
“I am happy to have won the game after more than five months in the football doldrums,” said Mangwiro.
“I thought I had lost touch with football but it was a good feeling to get a win.”
Mangwiro feels that How Mine gave them a good run but it was CAPS United who took their chances at goal.
“It was a balanced match but I believe we deservedly won the game because we asked more questions than our opponents,” said Mangwiro.
Mangwiro was appointed to lead the CAPS United technical team during the last half of the 2012 season.
During the off season, CAPS United trusted their former goalkeeper Brenna Msiska and Albert Mabika to take charge while praying for a favourable outcome on Mangwiro’s appeal.
“It’s too early to start setting goals that are realistic but we want to bring stability to the team,” said Mangwiro.
“This is not going to be easy but it can be done. There will be obstacles along the way but we have to work hard.
“So far we have won three out of our five matches and we are almost up there with Highlanders who are second on the log.
“So far it’s a good start and we need to build on that.”
CAPS United’s next match is against Black Mambas who are having a splendid start in the Castle Lager Premiership.
“It will not be an easy game because Mambas are playing well and have turned out to be one of our bogey sides.
“They have always had the better of CAPS United in previous matches,” said Mangwiro.
Mambas are in a buoyant mood after beating Hwange 1-0 at Morris Depot on Saturday.
But the shock result of the weekend came from the Zvishavane derby where Shabanie Mine edged the pacesetters FC Platinum at Maglas.
FC Platinum had been enjoyed a 100 percent run but Farayi Mususunye’s late effort made all the difference at it brought the country’s richest football club’s winning streak to a halt.
It was Shabanie’s first victory of the season and Masomere was upbeat on the team’s chances of rising further up.
Tripple B also secured their first win after beating fellow newcomers Triangle at Gibbo.
At Sakubva, Buffaloes beat Harare City 1-0 while Black Rhinos shared the spoils with Motor Action at Rufaro.
