Massive gig slated to close event

the participants and the residents in the City of Progress.
The gig starts at 9pm and ends in the late hours of Sunday.

Featured on the line up are some of Zimbabwe’s talented musicians like Sandra Ndebele, Jah Prayzah, Peter Moyo and the Utakataka Express, Freddy Manjalima, Born Free Crew, and Mbare Chimurenga Choir to mention just a few. Sandy is famous for her split dances that delight revellers every time she takes to the stage.

Despite being a mother Sandy continues to thrill her audiences with riveting dances and addictive music.
Another firebrand is the Mbare Chimurenga Choir, that has churned hits that have rocked the airwaves including Nyatsoteerera and VaMugabe Vanofamba Nemamonya.

The youthful singer Peter or Young Igwe will be there to spice up the gig with sungura beats. Just like his late father Tongai, the Young Igwe continues to entertainment fans with his energetic performances.

Comedian-cum-musician Kapfupi of the Mai Nga fame will prove his mettle when he takes to the stage.
Kapfupi is never short of drama and surprises and this time fans should look forward to yet another surprise.

The Born Free Crew who are basking in the glory of their chart topping album Team 88 promise to bring the roof down with their hits that include Tiri Vanhu Vamwe, Gushungo, We Salute You and President Mugabe  Ka1.

Mr Karikoga Kaseke who is a member of the entertainment committee organising the gig said all was set for the first ever conference show.

“It is not a gala per se but a conference gig which is intended to bring the curtain down on the conference. It is the first time we are having such kind of a gig. It is going to be a big event. We are inviting not just the conference delegates but also the people of Gweru to come and join the party,” he said.

Mr Kaseke said his committee was looking forward to signing contracts with other artistes including Winky D.

“We have signed contracts with most of the artistes and we are still looking for Winky D to come through and sign a contract so that he performs on Saturday,” he said.
