TAWANDA Maswanhise’s purple patch continues and the Zimbabwe international forward has bagged another accolade at his Scottish Premier Soccer League side Motherwell.
Maswanhise has been named Motherwell’s G4 Player of the Month for February, a period in which he reached a significant scoring milestone to bolster his side’s surge up the log standings.
The 23-year-old striker scooped his latest accolade with another inspiring performance for his side.
Although Motherwell are currently fourth on the log standings, 10 points behind log leaders Hearts, who have 63 points from 29 games, they feel that they are still in with a chance to launch a smash and grab on the championship title.
In scoring three goals last month, Maswanhise beat Stephen Welsh, Ibrahim Said and Elijah for the top club accolade.
The Zimbabwean international has been on fire since his return from Warriors duty in early January and he has so far scored 21 goals across all competitions in the current campaign, solidifying his status as one of the most prolific forwards in the Scottish Premiership.
He also leads the league’s scoring charts with 16 goals, one ahead of Benjamin Nygren of Celtic.
The latest accolade came after Maswanhise was named the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month for January, his second after having bagged the same award in November last year.
Maswanhise’s form this season has seen him attracting interest from two Motherwell’s Scottish Premier League rivals and giants Celtic and Rangers.
It has also been reported that the two giants are not alone in the race as a number English Championship sides and Anderlecht from Belgium are after his signature.
The forward, who joined Motherwell as a free agent from Leicester City in August 2024, has seen his market value soar to an estimated US$4million (€3.5 million) for his performance in the Scottish Premiership.
Maswanhise will mark his return to national colours later this month when he is expected to lead the line for the Warriors.
