Matabeleland South Netball Festival on

THE stage is set for the Matabeleland South Netball Festival that is set to be held at St Mary’s High School in Beitbridge over the weekend.
Gwanda netball league Division One and Two teams will clash in the two day tournament. The teams include Miami Queens, Beitbridge Queens, Lutumba, Tripple Stars, Penemere and Plumtree Border Queens

Social clubs are also expected to take part among them Zimra Beitbridge.
The tournament was supposed to mark the end of the season but games are still going on after some teams failed to fulfil their fixtures.
Provincial organising secretary Lynon Ndlovu said they chose St Mary’s as the venue because it has the best courts.

He said preparations were at an advanced stage. All the teams will spend a night there since it’s a two day tournament.
He said he expects a very competitive tournament.

“The winning team will walk away with a floating shield and prize money while the most disciplined team will also get a prize.

There will also be individual prizes for the best shooter, midfielder and defender.

Meanwhile, the Bulawayo Netball League enters Week 22 with high flying Ntutu Sparrows taking on Old Nic Mine. Ntutu Sparrows are still unbeaten with 63 points and are trailed by Zesa who have 49 points.
Zesa take on Tel-One while Railstars will clash Lobengula Queens.

Lee Mangena’s Free Stars will play host to Zimpost after experiencing mixed fortunes in their last league encounters.

Miami Queens, Beitbridge Queens, Lutumba, Tripple Stars Penemere, Border Queens, Bubi, Matshiloni, Zimra Beitbridge,  ZRP Shining stars, Mawabeni, Vumbachikwe, Colleen Bawn, Jessie Mine, Esigodini Agricultural College, Beitbridge Mighty Stars.

Telone v Zesa, Sobukazi Secondary School v Ntabazinduna Prisons, Phakamani v ZRP Ntabazinduna, Fairbridge v Jumbo Queens, Mighty Queens v Kensington, Freestars v Zimpost, Old Nic v Ntutu Sparrows, Railstars v Lobengula Queens.
