THE Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) Matabeleland South Province has established a new executive committee.
The election process, held recently in Gwanda, was presided over by ZNLWVA Political Commissar Cde Joel Mureremba, who urged the new executive to focus on unifying members and avoiding misinformation.

Cde Samuel Mlauzi from Beitbridge was elected provincial chairman, defeating Cde Jabulani Dube from Gwanda District. Other executive members were appointed through consensus by association members.

The newly appointed executive includes:
– Cde Nehemiah Nyathi from Insiza as Vice Chairman
– Cde Sally Ncube from Gwanda as Secretary for Administration
– Cde Jethro Sibanda from Mangwe District as Provincial Commissar
– Cde Joshua Moyo from Umzingwane as Secretary for Security
– Cde Elizabeth Ndlovu from Matobo as Secretary for Transport and Welfare
– Cde Smart Tshuma from Bulilima District as Treasurer
– Cde Livson Nhlane from Insiza as Secretary for Information and Publicity
– Cde Mary Mpofu from Gwanda as Secretary for Women’s Affairs
– Cde Falcon Dube as Secretary for Legal Affairs

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman, Cde Samuel Mlauzi, pledged to work closely with Cde Jabulani Dube.

“To me, no one lost and no one won between me and my comrade, Jabulani Dube. We will continue working together, and I thank the members for choosing me to lead them. These positions should not divide us but should instead help us establish a structure that makes it easier to work effectively,” he said.

Cde Mlauzi added, “I will work tirelessly to represent the association and its members in this province. I will also focus on unifying the association. As war veterans, we didn’t join Zanu-PF; we are automatically an integral part of the party, and we must fulfil our mandate.”

He further emphasised his commitment to mobilising war veterans across all seven districts of the province.
