Matabeleland Warriors suffer first loss

It was Matabeleland Warriors’ first loss of the season in four matches and they are now on fourth position with 15 points.

The result saw log leaders Harare Sports Club maintaining their 100 percent league record and they are at the top with 23 points from five outings.

Matabeleland Warriors’ coach Rueben Kumpasa said they missed some of their key players for the Harare trip but vowed to bounce back to winning ways.

“It was a good game but unfortunately some of our players were committed at work and could not travel with us for the Harare Sports Club game.

“Some of my regular players who missed the game because of their involvement at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair are Paul Staark, Mike Zvakavapano and Thabo Nyathi.
“We will have our full-strength squad this weekend for the Old Georgians game and I am confident we will win it,” said Kumpasa.

Skipper Lloyd Machanjaire, Jafet Ndebele, Ozy Lynx, Tapiwa “Endo” Mangezi and their top scorer Terrence Kuvarega led Matabeleland Warriors team that faced a star studded Harare Sports Club.

Sables’ Tangai Nemadire, Daniel Hondo and Gerald Sibanda have been key in Harare Sports Club’s campaign and have combined well with the likes of Ruramai Kudenga, Ranga Zimbowa and Patrick Teresi who have been scoring important points for their team.

All the above players featured for Harare Sports Club.
