Matemadanda to assist churches

Midlands Bureau
Zanu-PF secretary for War Veterans Cde Victor Matemadanda has pledged to address challenges facing churches in the constituency.

Addressing church leaders in Ngondomi last week, Cde Matemadanda said it was his role to assist churches.

“I have got a list of problems forwarded by several church leaders that include their need to have proper ablution facilities, clean water and proper church buildings,” he said.

He said churches in Gokwe should have good infrastructure. He donated 60 bags of cement to three different churches.

“We want people to understand that our President Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa is a man who is guided by Christian values,” he said.

He urged churches to vote for the President in the coming general election.

“We are going for elections and you have heard him saying the voice of the people is the voice of God.

“That simply means he respects God and by so doing he is going to do his best to ensure the development of religion in the country,” he said.

Cde Matemadanda who will represent Zanu-PF in the coming general election said he wanted to make history by developing the constituency.

“This is our constituency and we need to develop it. I will work with everyone to ensure that we develop it,” he said.

He urged churches to preach peace ahead of the elections.

“Let us preach peace at all levels and encourage people to vote peacefully,” he said.
