Gospel musician Mathias Mhere will double his 26th birthday celebrations together with the launch of a DVD album for “Nguva Yenyasha” tomorrow evening at the Rainbow Towers hotel. Musicians Mudiwa, Flem B and Sabastian Magacha are expected to perform at the event while Pastor Charles Charamba, Suluman Chimbetu and Jah Prayzah will feature as guest artists. Zimbabwe Union of Musicians patron Webster Shamu will be guest of honour.

“I am turning 26 on Friday (tomorrow) and the celebrations come together with the launch of my DVD. We are glad to have a double celebration.
The musician said he did his best in the shooting of the DVD that features comedian David Mubaiwa, popularly known as Sabhuku Vharazipi, on the song “Pamazuva Angu.”

“We have worked together well with this man (Mubaiwa) and we are expecting people not just to be entertained by the video but to listen to the message on the song,” said Mhere.

The musician will be taking his DVD to the United Kingdom on June 18 where he will perform at three shows.
Turning to his upcoming album Mhere said they are already working on it and Oliver Mtukudzi will feature on one of the songs.

“We have already recorded the song with him (Mtukudzi) and I am happy to go through his mentorship. Let people first enjoy the DVD while we finish the album,” he said.

Mhere rose to fame in 2012 with his album “Anoita Minana”.
