Mat’land amateur bodybuilding association to hold Mr and Ms Zimbabwe semis Saturday

THE Matabeleland Amateur Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Association will hold a Mr and Ms Zimbabwe semi-finals at Barberton Gym on Saturday.Twelve finalists will proceed to the national finals set for Harare next week.

Three bodybuilders will represent Bulawayo in the women, juniors, middleweight and heavyweight categories each.     Event organiser Simon Gama said the stage is set for the semi-final contest.

“Winners of the semi-finals will participate in the national finals next week,” he said.
Gama urged bodybuilders to come in their numbers.

“We have not won anything as a province in three years so urge all Matabeleland bodybuilders to come in their numbers. We want to break the jinx and come back winners this time around,” said Gama.

Mike Alimu who came sixth in the national finals last year is tipped to do well.
“I’m confident the guys like Alimu who finished sixth last year, have been training well,” he said.
