MATABELELAND Under-18 rugby team coach George Mukorera strongly believes his side can upset Mbare Academy from Harare when the two clash in a challenge cup match at Hartsfield grounds on Saturday.

“Morale in camp is very high. I believe the boys are ready for the challenge ahead. It is going to be tough but we hope to win the contest. We will be playing at home so we want to utilise this advantage. We appeal to fans to come in their numbers to support the team,” said Mukorera.

This is the second edition of this challenge.

“We lost last year and we go into this one as wounded lions. This is the last game of the season and we want to win to end the season on a high.”

The hosts’ preparation got a major boost when coach Paradzai Matsika was roped in to help with his technical expertise. Matsika has been working with the team together with Mukorera.

The hosts will pin their hopes for victory on the likes of Terrence Ncube, Prayer Ngulube, Lesly Ndaba and Genius Masuku.

Entry fees have been pegged at $1 all round.
