Matthew Rusike injured

round first leg qualifier against Botswana due to a groin injury.
Team manager Wellington Mpandare said the South Africa-based striker, who did not take part in yesterday’s training session, will not be travelling with the squad when they embark on a 12-hour road trip to Gaborone this morning.
The Young Warriors are set to clash with the Botswana Under-23 side in Molepolele, about 50km away from the capital city Gaborone, on Friday.
“We are looking forward to leave very early in the morning, around 3am. We are not expecting to encounter delays at the border and we should be there by 3pm,” said Mupandare.
The technical team yesterday announced their final squad of 18, which included only one new face, following the addition of Kiglon striker William Manondo.
Manondo, the scorer of the goal that sunk Dynamos in their season opener two weeks ago, was not part of the initial squad but gate-crashed into the team after impressing the coaches when given the opportunity for assessment yesterday.
He is one of the four strikers in the squad and will battle for a starting place with Monomotapa’s Malvern Dumbura, CAPS hotshot Simba Sithole and Denver Mukamba of Dynamos.
Manondo is filling the void left by the unavailability of Rusike through injury.
“Rusike had been playing for his club in South Africa with the condition but it aggravated during training on Monday and is definitely out of this tie.
“It’s rather unfortunate but the rest of the team is in good health.
“Everyone is in good spirits. We had to do with the little time we had to prepare to our best and we expect a positive result,” said Mpandare.
The technical team also took on board the Dynamos quartet of Devon Chafa, Timire Mamvura, Archford Gutu and Mukamba despite frantic efforts by the Glamour Boys to have the players for their Premiership tie against FC Platinum this afternoon.
Zimbabwe qualified to this stage following a 4-3 aggregate win over northern neighbours Zambia in the preliminary round.
The Young Warriors posted a sensational 3-2 victory in Lusaka in the first leg and drew 1-1 in the reverse fixture at Rufaro in February.
The good showing by the team seems to have tempted coach Friday Phiri and his lieutenants to keep faith in the players who did duty in the preliminary round over Zambia.
Some of the few names missing from that preliminary round mission include Tapiwa Mangezi, Blessing Sande, Passmore Bernard, and Steven Matsangaise.
Shooting Stars defender Charles Mutero has been recalled to replace Knowledge Machona, who is ineligible after getting two yellow cards from the previous encounters.
Botswana drew 1-1 with Swaziland before winning 1-0 in the return leg in Mbabane to book their date against Zimbabwe.
But the Young Zebras have suffered a setback after crashing out of the Olympic Games qualifiers at the hands of Egypt on a 3-2 aggregate over the weekend.
Botswana’s 2-1 victory at home was not enough to overturn the 2-0 deficit they had suffered in the first leg.
