Lewis Matutu a Zanu-PF Youth League member last week donated sporting equipment worth thousands of dollars to Sinami Primary School in rural Zvishavane.

Matutu donated bibs, cones and soccer balls for both boys and girls teams.

“Rural schools get little attention from politicians and corporates’ feel they deserve the same treatment like most of the schools in urban areas especially ion terms of sport.

“A number of players have made it in football and most of our players are plying their trade in South Africa with a few in Europe.

It is my wish that after the Mighty Warriors qualified for the Mighty Warriors beat qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to see the girl child plying their trade in competitive leagues.

“Sport is a profession which pays a lot of money hence my desire to see a number of players coming from the rural set up and flying our flag high in the world,” said Matutu.

Matutu feels as a young leader he must support his young brothers and sisters.

He also went a step further by donating computers, printers and window panes.

“Zvishavane Community Trust constructed a classroom block at the school and I felt that I should play my part.”
