A champion for African culture and a Zimbabwean based in the United Kingdom, Danai Mavunga, has launched a crowd funding campaign through her Love One Another Foundation to support children at Chindotwe Primary School.
Mavhunga launched the campaign on April 18 with an aim of raising £20 000 to provide the school with the much-needed resources and to sponsor struggling students’ school fees.
Chindotwe Primary School is located in Mashonaland Central province where Mavunga hails from. Mavunga, who is the co-founder of Peppah, an events, music, and public relations company that promotes cultural development, said she was touched by learning conditions at Chindotwe during her recent trip back home.
“As someone who frequently travels across the African continent with a genuine passion to learn about its different cultures, I’ve always been an advocate for anything positive to come out of Africa,” she said.
Mavunga said she was hoping to sponsor at least 22 children struggling to pay school fees, to repaint the school and supply new furniture.
She appealed for donations that will make a lasting impression to the children.
“I am thrilled to have people joining me on this heart-warming journey to support the children of Chindotwe Primary School,” said Mavunga.”Together, let’s empower these children and create a brighter tomorrow. Every penny counts — donate now and make a world of difference.”
Mavunga’s services to music and cultural development were recently recognised as she was presented with a Global Impact Award.
