Mawere wants community support

football club has not made it a secret that they want to win the Premiership title and become the second team, outside Harare and Bulawayo, to do so.

St Paul’s Musami were the first in 1965. We want to work with the members of the previous executive and also to continue cementing our relationship with the community,” said Mawere.

“I was the vice-president in the previous executive and for people to think the club has done away with the previous executive is wrong because I was also a member.”

The club president said they also wanted to boost their support base in this mining town and rallied on residents to back their project.

Mawere replaced Nathan Shoko, who stepped down as club president after two years in charge, and was given the role of honorary president.

Thadson Zhou, Lovett Wadawareva and Elton Nyoka were appointed into the advisory board while Lloyd Shirichena took over the role of fund-raising officer with former secretary-general, Phil Muvengwa, joining the committee that will oversee the commercial activities of the club.
