MAYBE, WE WILL GET ZIM PARTNERS, SAY SA TWINS

Latwell Nyangu

SOUTH Africa-based twin sisters, Kefi and Nunu Magano, have joked they will find Zimbabwean partners during their tour of this country.

The duo is scheduled to arrive in Zimbabwe tomorrow on a tour the two have dubbed a cultural exchange programme.

The 39-year-old content creators will be making their first visit to Zimbabwe.

The pair has been campaigning, using their social media platforms, supporting the presence of foreigners in South Africa, and condemning xenophobic attacks.

In an interview, the twins said they are excited about their trip to Zimbabwe.

“We are extremely excited, it’s like a dream come true and it has been our real dream to just visit Zimbabwe.

“I don’t know if you know how much we love Zimbabwean people and all the African people.

“In fact, we love African countries and we can’t wait, actually, we feel like the days are going on by like slowly.

“We are just so thrilled and excited,” said Kefi.

The twins feel this is an opportunity to spread some love among Africans.

Nunu said:

“We feel like we want to spread love and for people to know and understand that giving out love does not cost you anything.

“You don’t have to give love only to South Africans.

“We are all made in the image of God and we believe that we have to love each other without any condition.”

She added:

“This is the whole purpose and we want people to learn that love is not about colour, love is not about a country, love is not about a continent or culture.

“Love is love and as long as you are an African this is what should be, your purpose in life, you know being kind to everyone, loving other people.

“I think this is our main mission and vision, you know, to spread love.”

The sisters believe that Africans should not fight each other.

“These days, news is always about conflict, it doesn’t make sense, I mean how can you fight your own brothers, how is that even possible?

“Some people are trying by all means to abide by the laws of South Africa and you can’t punish everyone else because of others.”

She said there were a lot of foreigners at their church.

“We have a whole lot, including Zimbabweans, Nigerians, Malawians, Namibians.

“First, we are going to teach you guys how to dance traditional dances.

“We are going to teach Zimbabweans our songs.

“We also want to learn the type of food which Zimbabweans eat and we will also share what South Africans eat.

“It will also be an opportunity to learn how Zimbabweans pay lobola, celebrate their weddings, you never know, we can get a man there.”

Kefi works as a receptionist while her twin sister is not employed.

“We lost our parents when we were 17 years and we lost our brother when he was 12 years.

“We have been depending on God who raised us because you know once you lose your mom everything is gone.”

Their trip is being sponsored by businessman, Moreboys Munetsi, of Great Hope Insurance and Munetsi Perfumes.

“It’s more of a cultural exchange. The ladies have supported the Zimbabwean community, especially when foreigners were denied medical treatment from hospitals.

“They started a campaign through their social media platforms to encourage their fellow citizens not to attack foreigners

“After seeing their good work, I then invited them to visit Zimbabwe and see how beautiful the country is.

“We want them to tell their friends, when they come back, good news about Zimbabwe,” he said.
