FORMER Soccer Star of the Year, Stewart “Shutto” Murisa, has revealed that he is not related in any way to Teashun Murisa.
The highly-rated prospect who has signed his first professional contract with English Premier League giants Arsenal.
Teashun Murisa is a 17-year-old right-back who was raised in England and is eligible for Zimbabwe.
Murisa is also now based in the United Kingdom but he is not the father of Teashun.
Murisa has revealed that has one son, Stewart Jr, who has stopped playing football.
“I am happy for Teashun’s progress being a football person but he is not my son.
“Stewart Jr is my only son. He once played football but he has now stopped,”
Murisa told Zimpapers Sports Hub from his base in England yesterday
“A lot of people have been phoning me endlessly, wanting to know if Teashun is my son.
“Let me clarify that the boy is not my son. I only have Stewart Jr.”
Teashun’s deal formalises his status within the club’s development pathway and positions him for potential elevation to higher youth and senior levels.
The teenager, who was born in the UK to Zimbabwean parents, has already attracted attention within the Arsenal system.
Earlier last year, he was among the academy players invited to train with the first team ahead of a UEFA Champions League fixture, underlining the club’s growing confidence in his potential.
Teashun has featured primarily for the club’s Under-18 side, although he is known for his versatility, having previously operated in midfield before settling at right-back.
For Zimbabwean football, the development is significant.
Teashun is viewed as part of the next generation of diaspora talent who could strengthen the national team pipeline if he commits to representing the Warriors at senior level.
