BULAWAYO residents should not wait to get rich for them to donate towards the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund.
These were the words of Bulawayo youth and media personality Khayelihle Moyo as she donated clothes to the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund last week.
The 28-year-old SKYZE Metro radio presenter joined other well-wishers including Justine Clothing to donate to the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund which continues to assist needy communities in Bulawayo.
Ms Khayelihle donated second hand clothes which she said were from her personal wardrobe as well as from family and friends.
“The clothes are for everyone, children, women and men. I just went through my closet and pulled out things that I felt I no longer needed and my friends and family came through,” she said.
“I believe that a donation should not be a huge thing and we really don’t need to wait and get rich for us to donate. Clothes are something that a lot of people are hoarding in their homes whilst they don’t really need them.”
Justine Clothing donated skirts.
The donations were received by Bulawayo mayor Cllr Solomon Mguni at the City Hall.
The Mayor expressed gratitude to the Bulawayo community for the continued support.
“Bulawayo city is blessed to have a community that is dedicated to lend a helping hand and we are grateful that we are able to make this initiative a success,” said Cllr Mguni.
