Mayweather ‘very interested’ in buying Newcastle United

Boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather has expressed interest in buying a majority share of English Premiership side Newcastle United.

The undefeated five-weight former world champion jokingly teased, while speaking at his Evening with Floyd Mayweather tour in Newcastle that he is willing to purchase the club.

“In the US we call it soccer, but the Newcastle football team is an unbelievable team … a hell of a team.

“If the people want me to buy the Newcastle team, let me know!”

The 43-year-old is believed to have a net worth of at least $430 million and earned a reported $275 million in an exhibition bout against UFC fighter Conor McGregor.

Newcastle owner, Mike Ashley has put the club up for sale and was recently in talks with a Saudi Arabian consortium for a potential takeover. – Sport24.
