MAZ honours outstanding marketing personalities,firms

Year award.
The award was presented to him at a colourful dinner hosted by CBZ Bank at the A Zambezi hotel in the resort town of Victoria Falls.
“It is in the spirit of appreciating and encouraging outstanding marketing efforts that we honour our marketers and some implemented campaigns each year,” said MAZ president, Mr Godfrey Dube.
Econet Wireless’ chief marketing officer, Mr Isaiah Nyangari and Nyaradzo Group’s CEO, Mr Phillip Mataranyika were first and second runner up respectively.

Douglas Mamvura Profile
Douglas Mamvura, a born again Christian, is one of the top personal brands in Zimbabwe renowned for his marketing prowess and turnaround strategist.

Doug as he is affectionately known is a marketing zealot whose reputation in brand building is impeccable. He has resurrected many brands some of which had been originally written off.
His marketing foot prints and signature have been seen at places such as Standard Chartered bank, CBZ bank, Trust bank and Coca- Cola among others. 
His book, “Marketing as a Calling” is currently being used by one of the local universities as one of the course books for marketing.

He has won numerous awards both local and international.
He is married to Tendayi and they have two sons and a daughter.

Isaiah Nyangari profile

Isaiah Nyangari is known among his team for his creative insights and his innovative approach to marketing, attributes that have seen Econet Wireless producing game-changing products and services, all driven by innovative marketing campaigns.
To assist in this regard, Mr Nyangari ensures constant market research that aims to identify possible opportunities, while making sure any campaign responds fully to contemporary trends in the society that Econet serves.
As a result of work done by the Marketing Department that Mr Nyangari leads, Econet has seen phenomenal growth over the past year.
Mr Nyangari remains committed to growing the Marketing industry. In March, he addressed the graduation ceremony of the Institute of Marketing Management, challenging the graduands to be innovative in order to take advantage of marketing opportunities.

Phillip Mataranyika Profile
Philip Mataranyiks is the founder and current CEO of the Nyaradzo Group.

A graduate of the Institute of Marketing Management of South Africa, he worked at Old Mutual for 15 years, where he won the Old Mutual Chairman’s Prize for top financial advisor from 1996-2001.
He left to start the Nyaradzo Group in 2001. He is the reigning ZNCC Businessman of the Year and KMFS Africa 2011 CEO of the Year. He is also a director of Altfin Life, Altfin Health, Rose Market Investments and Rufaro Marketing, where he is Chairman.

Mataranyika is accredited with transforming the funeral industry with Nyaradzo being the first to provide buses for mourners, the popular Sahwira Mukuru, a service which has become the norm.
Other “firsts” for Nyaradzo include the white hearses, water bowsers, generators, and music. Philip is married to Mavis and they have been blessed with three sons.

He is a man driven by what he believes in and always strives for excellence.
