admininjuries, had been doubtful for tomorrow’s match against How Mine after his contract expired last week. The player’s agent Gibson Mahachi confirmed a new deal has been thrashed out after meeting representatives from the club’s executive.
Mbara put pen to paper yesterday.
Dynamos secretary general, Webster Chikengezha, said the Harare giants were happy with the development.
“That one has been taken care of. We are happy the player is still part of the family,” said Chikengezha.
While, Mbara’s deal has been sealed, DeMbare will now turn their attention to their negotiations with DC Academy and Sprouting Academy for the continued use of players that have been loaned to the Harare giants.
The club is also at loggerheads with feeder clubs DC Academy and Sprouting Academy over the outstanding loan amounts for Devon Chafa, Morris Kadzola and Allan Tavarwisa.
This week the clubs threatened to withdraw the services of the players if Dynamos fail to meet their obligation.
However, Chikengezha said they were still hoping for an amicable settlement to the standoff.
The situation at the club has left coach Callisto Pasuwa in a quandary as he is not sure which players will be available to him during the last lap of the league race.
Pasuwa also indicated that he would have wanted to beef up his squad but was hamstrung by the lack of funds, which has also stalled the clearances of Sydney Linyama from Chicken Inn and Jeremy Mumbere from the Democratic Republic of Congo outfit St Eloi Lupopo.
The two have been on the Dynamos books since January but the coaches could not use them in competitive matches despite their talents.
“We are working flat out to get some money to pay off all the outstanding fees. The financial aspect has been a major hindrance but we would like to get everything in order as soon as possible,” said Chikengezha.
Chikengezha said they were hoping to beef up their squad but were now afraid to go on the market because of “unrealistic” prices being demanded.
The technical team has been struggling with a limping squad as most of the players have been taking turns on the sidelines.
“The problem we are facing is that there are some who are pitching their prices too high for the local standards once they know their player is wanted by a club like Dynamos.
“We have to understand some of these things, somebody may worth US$100 000 in South Africa but Zimbabwe is a different market altogether because of the disparities in financial situations of the clubs in the two countries.
“In the end, some of the amounts being demanded here are unrealistic and we cannot afford to pay them,” said Chikengezha.
DeMbare, who are the reigning champions, are among the top contenders for this year’s title as they sit third on the log table at half way stage of the race with 28 points, one behind the leaders Highlanders and Chicken Inn.
But their campaign has been rocked by uncertainties as some players are reported to be looking for greener pastures in South Africa, with defenders Partson Jaure, Ocean Mushure and midfielder Devon Chafa dominating the list.
However, Chikengezha said they have not received any formal communication from the players or their agents. The DeMbare executive gave the players up to July 15 to indicate if they are moving to South Africa.
“We have been hearing that there are some players who want to go to South Africa but we do not have anything in writing.
“For the purposes of planning we are encouraging those guys to come forward and we plan on time if there are any replacements to be made.
“The transfer window here closes on July 15 and we are not prepared for a situation where we would lose, let’s two or three, players towards the end of the month. We will not allow anyone to go after that deadline lapses,” said Chikengezha.
Pasuwa yesterday remained confident ahead of their trip to How Mine tomorrow.
DeMbare outclassed their opponents in the first leg when they romped to a 3-0 victory at Rufaro two weeks ago.
“This is a new game on a different surface also. How Mine are a very good team with three quarters of the guys having vast experience in Premiership football.
“So we must not sit on our laurels,” said Pasuwa.
They got a boost this week with the return from injury of big striker Francisco Zekumbawira, Cliff sekete, Jaure and Washington Pakamisa.
However striker Patrick Khumbula, who was injured in their last match against Buffaloes in the BancABC Sup8r Cup at Gibbo, will not be part of the team.
“Most of the players are back at training but now it’s the fitness levels that will determine whether one can last 90 minutes or not.
“Of course, they are available for selection but we still need to assess them again,” said Pasuwa.
