Mbire GBV one-stop centre facilitates acquisition of birth certificates for 22 children

Remember Deketeke in Mbire

Twenty-two children in Mbire District have managed to acquire birth certificates courtesy of the gender-based violence one-stop centre that is operating at Mushumbi High School.

The one-stop centre is an initiative meant to facilitate the provision of health services and the acquisition of national documents in remote areas.

Civil Registry Department officials at the school said they are happy to be offering the basic service closer to the people.

“As of yesterday evening, we had documented 22 children with more still to come today. This is through the initiative spearheaded by the Zimbabwe Gender Commission ZGC and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP),” said one of the officials.
