AFRO-FUSION artiste Darlington “Hombarume” Mbirimi feels humbled after being endorsed by mbira queen, Ambuya Stella Chiweshe.
Hombarume said he felt motivated after the Germany-based culture ambassador praised him for his creative edge.
The crooner rose to prominence for his efforts to revive and safeguard the late Paul Matavire’s musical legacy.
He recently did a rendition of Matavire’s timeless classic, Handirambe, which comes with new visuals.
In an interview with H-Metro, Hombarume said:

“When I released the visuals for the song Handirambi, the response the video is getting is good.
“People around the country appear to have fallen in love with it, including our own internationally acclaimed mbira icon Mbuya Chiweshe who also said the video was a masterpiece,” he told H-Metro.
Buoyed by the success of the acoustic version of the song, Hombarume said he will continue following in the footsteps of Matavire.
“I am also doing my music and the Handirambe cover was just to show people my versatility and affection for Matavire.
“So, in order for me to do the visuals, there was need to do a cover track.
“Basically, what inspired me was the need to do a video for the song, portraying Matavire,” he said.
